DEAD AIR

The airwaves are bleeding. Do not lose the signal.

Dead Air is a claustrophobic, analog horror simulation played entirely from the first-person perspective of a rusted, Cold War-era desk console. As a lone radio operator in the isolated valley town of Oakhaven, your graveyard shift begins just as a dense, crimson fog rolls in. The fog is changing things. It is absorbing the voices of the townspeople and playing them back over your frequency as an auditory lure.

You have no weapons. You cannot run. Your only means of survival is the console in front of you.

CORE FEATURES:

  • Tactile Dashboard Panic: Manage an immersive, 2D lo-fi control panel. Toggle mechanical switches, balance a fragile power grid, and watch your analog needles bounce violently as the world outside collapses.
  • Fight the Signal Drift: Signals don’t stay locked. Constantly manipulate an analog tuning dial to fight dynamic frequency drift. Lose the frequency, and your headphones will be flooded with ear-bleeding, blinding white noise.
  • Spectral Detective Work: Use a CRT oscilloscope to analyze audio waveforms in real-time. Real human voices are chaotic and erratic. The "Static Mimics" use stitched-together audio loops that reveal a perfectly symmetrical, algorithmic waveform spike every 1.5 seconds. Learn the tell, or route a nightmare directly into the town's airwaves.
  • The Power Grid Dilemma: The anomalous fog will try to overload your system. Flip individual toggle switches—Bunker Heater, Overhead Lights, Main Transmitter—to keep your power below 100%. Cut the heat, and your breath will freeze on the glass. Cut the lights, and you are plunged into pitch blackness with only the toxic green glow of your monitor.

Can you separate the human from the static? Or will you let the choir in?
